Renato Mello is a composer and saxophone player, known for his work with the Brazilian post-punk band Kafka from the mid 80’s. He is also a member of Invisible Opera Company, created by Daevid Allen of Gong, and also plays guitar and keyboards.
His artistic skills go beyond music, ranging from architectural, graphic design to drawing and painting.
Kafka was a very innovative band with a different pop appeal that featured long saxophone solos with lots of effects, creating its unique style that was outstanding at that time.
Renato is re-appearing in the space jazz and art rock Brazilian scene with the newest album The Frame of Life with Fabio Golfetti and the Stratus Luna’s musicians collaboration.
